Appreciation Walk

Today was wonderful! I had two training sessions with some of the sweetest dogs- Makk and Jakk who are two 8 year old labs who just got rescued by their new forever home and then with an adorable little yorkie puppy named Zack. It’s amazing the amount of love that you can feel from dogs. They show it all over their bodies by wiggling and dancing all around you with their tails going a mile a minute. I absolutely love my “job” and I feel like it’s a crime to even call it that because I love doing what I do so much. Makk and Jakk and little Zack are all doing so well and are so happy to be training and playing with me. I appreciate these sweet little creatures so much!

After “work” today my mom and I decided to go on a sunset walk to catch up and talk biz. She’s been taking care of a Russian Borzois named Roald and I wanted to get my dogs out for a good long walk. I thought about what I’m most thankful for and my mom was standing right there in front of me. It’s really special that my mom and I can run a business together and that we have the loving relationship that we do. I appreciate her so much and I love the fact that we are so close. My mom has been through a lot in the past few years and she’s come so far. On our walk today we talked about how important it is to be mindful of the dialogue in your mind and how it’s so important to turn off the negative thoughts and turn them into positive ones. Sometimes it’s important to turn off all of your thoughts completely and just breathe. As cliche as that sounds, it’s so important to just be in the moment and enjoy every step and every breath along your walk. That’s what dogs do. They follow their nose and enjoy all of the sights and sounds along the way.

The sunset tonight was spectacular as always. Thank you Mom for all that you do and all that you have done. I love you so much!
